Dr. Hassan Tetteh, MD, MBA

Dr. Hassan Tetteh is an associate professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and a staff thoracic surgeon for MedStar Health and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. 

He served as ship’s surgeon and director of surgical services for the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) battle group in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, deployed as a trauma surgeon to Afghanistan in support of Operation enduring Freedom with II Marine Expeditionary Forces, and  has supported special joint forces missions to South America, the Middle East, the South Pacific, Australia and Africa. His military honors include two Meritorious Service Medals and the Joint Service Commendation Medals

An acclaimed keynote speaker, Hassan inspires audiences with stories from two decades working on the fringe of life and death. His near-death experience influences his unique patient care approach and fuels his passion and gratitude for life. He shares the gift brilliantly with the audiences and inspires individuals to perform with excellence, achieve their highest potential, and fulfill their dreams.

He received his MD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, his MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and MBA from Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. He completed his thoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Minnesota and advanced cardiac surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Vijayakrishna K. Gadi, MD, PhD

Dr. Gadi is an academic medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer. In addition to being regarded a clinical expert with over 1000 breast cancer patients under his care, he is a noted educator. He has been actively involved in mentoring medical oncology fellows for nearly a decade preparing them for their board certification. He is also a frequent lecturer and is often asked to chair or section-chair many CME events several times a year. His other roles are as a clinical investigator and translational researcher. He is a former medical editorial board member for About.com/The New York Times Company and former contributor to Everydayhealth.com. He was formerly on the speaker bureaus of Celgene, Amgen, and Roche. He is on the editorial board of Chimerism medical journal and serves as a regular reviewer of several top-tier journals including Blood, Lancet, Lancet Oncology, Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, International Journal of Cancer, Clinical Chemistry, Journal of Clinical Investigation.

Dr.  Gadi is either the principal investigator or co-investigator on over 30 clinical trials and is a member of the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) and the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium (TBCRC). His federally funded research laboratory has made fundamental insights on the long-term immunologic effects of pregnancy on future breast cancer risk and in the functional genetic networks driving cancer resistance to standard treatments. He is the chief medical director and one of the founders of SEngine Precision Medicine, Inc – a spin-off of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. For his research, he has been numerous prizes including the Mary Kay Ash Research Award, Expedition Inspiration Young Investigator Award, Norman S. Coplan Scholar Award from the Satellite Foundation, The Immunex Scholar Award from Amgen, and the Scholar Award from the Safeway Foundation.
